Issue was analyzing an MRI. Challenging topic to discuss but Dr. Wakefield not clear, thoughtful, and kept the focus on helping me understand options. He was a "pro" who combined expertise with communication skills and empathy.

Andrew Wakefield, MD, FAANS, is a neurosurgeon with the Hartford HealthCare Ayer Neuroscience Institute.

Board certified in neurology, Dr. Wakefield is an assistant clinical professor of surgery at the University of Connecticut and has earned the Hartford Hospital Medical Staff Humanitarian Award and a 20-year award from the American Medical Association. He earned a master’s degree in pathology/immunology and a medical degree from the University of Connecticut. He completed a residency in neurosurgery at Hartford Hospital and fellowships in neurosurgery, spine, at the University of New Mexico and Cleveland Clinic.
