Dr. Elizabeth Sappenfield went over a complex surgery - clearly we discussed options. She took the time to explain to my husband & I how and why she will switch this surgery to a different method in a later phone call - after the appointment we were impressed with her thoughts and concerns.

She performs minimally invasive vaginal and laparoscopic surgeries as well as offers many office procedures and non-surgical treatment options.

She is on a faculty at Hartford Hospital where she trains residents in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as fellows in the field of Female Pelvic Medicine (Urogynecology).

She actively participates in clinical research to advance knowledge of pelvic floor disorders and regularly presents her work at numerous national meeting.

She is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and is fluent in Russian and Spanish.
